The Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church Youth group offers a safe space for youth, in community with one another, to build lasting friendships, explore the Christian faith, encounter God in new ways, and experience the living God in the world around us through heart, soul, mind and strength. Our desire is to see youth critically engage the Christian faith and experience God in deeper and more passionate ways with the hope of forming faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

We believe that it is not enough to simply profess faith in Christ. As part of our desire to be faithful Christians, we desire to live lives pleasing to God in the name of Christ. As Luke 10:27 says, we must love God and live lives pleasing to God with all parts of ourselves, not just some. We desire to be as complete and whole and perfect as we can by trying to follow the will of God as revealed through Christ, in the Scriptures, Christian tradition, and Christian practices. And we invite you to join us on this journey.
Our group is made up of students in the 6th-12th grades who meet weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays for Bible Study opportunities. We also meet for various monthly fellowship opportunities and retreats throughout the year. One of our largest annual events is the Camp Ridgecrest experience at the end of the summer.
As part of the PMBC Youth Ministry, we like to ensure that our students come to know how important service is to a life of following Christ. Each year we focus on various mission efforts, usually hands-on in nature, and we always encourage our students to participate. We are currently planning a trip to Honduras at the end of June, which will be unforgettable for those who attend. We also partner with organizations like the Urban Ministry Center throughout the year in an effort to work to benefit our city and our communities.
We have some very gifted teens that are involved in our Youth Choir and our Orchestra. We have also recently started an interpretive movement group called “Speechless” that leads in worship at different times throughout the year. These groups are always working on a stirring pieces to lead us with their unique gifts. If you are interested in using your talents in these ways, we would certainly enjoy having you.
We are most proud of our newly renovated youth area called The Loft. We have only been meeting in this space for a few months, but our students seem to love it. This was an eight month undertaking that was completed almost entirely by volunteers within the church. It shows how invested we are in our teens. We have a large meeting room called the Theater, a Lounge where the students can chat or study, a Coffee Shop where we have snacks each time we meet, and a Game Room with plenty of fun for everyone. The Loft is fully updated technologically with excellent TVs and wireless internet.
Come join us on the journey.
