Visit Pritchard

Message from the Pastor

Be the Presence of Christ Today!  This is the motto adopted by Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and that we pray affects our behavior on a daily basis. Our church is a place of love and support for the members of our congregation.  We want to share that same love with those who visit us and with everyone with whom we come into contact.  That motivates us to constantly be looking for ways that we can reach out to our community and let them see Christ in action.

Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church has been anchored in the South End community for more than 100 years.  In that time we have seen many changes to our church and to the community that surrounds us.  Our area is currently experiencing a season of revitalization.  Uptown Charlotte has grown dramatically over the last decade, and the area around our church has seen an influx of people as new developments and businesses have chosen to invest in the South End community.  Our goal is to make sure that those who live and work around us know that the heart of our church is focused on ministry among this community.

As the community around us continues to grow, we have recognized the importance of revitalizing our own campus in order to better minister to the city of Charlotte.  Read about how we are taking steps toward revitalization through our Now Is the Time Campaign.

We believe God has placed us here for a purpose, and we want to make it possible for ministry to be done here for many years to come.  I invite you to come see what God is doing through this church, and, if He leads you, to become a part of Being the Presence of Christ Today! with Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.

In His Love,

Bobby Morrow

What to Expect in Worship

Worship is at the very heart of life at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.  Each Sunday we seek to present worship experiences that are celebrative in character, while also maintaining an atmosphere of reverence.  We acknowledge that scripture, the spoken word, prayer, and music empowered by the Holy Spirit and presented with excellence have the potential to touch the hearts of worshipers in a profound way while directing them toward the God of creation.

In addition to the elements traditionally found in Christian worship, we also seek to utilize creative elements which we find both culturally appealing and effective.  Some weeks you will find short videos, creative movement and dramatic sketches.  You will find praise choruses in addition to traditional hymns, as well as a thought provoking sermon from our Pastor.  Each of these elements is chosen to enhance the experience of those gathered for worship.

We invite you to join us in the PMBC Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings as we worship the Lord together.
