Our Vision & Beliefs
The Pritchard Family of Faith desires to be the Presence of Christ in South End, Dilworth, and wherever the Lord opens doors of opportunity to share His love. Our ministry seeks to:
CREATE loving relationships and partnerships with individuals, families and organizations;
WORSHIP God through inspired music, prayer and Bible-based teaching, welcoming all seekers to come and worship the risen Christ;
NURTURE and make disciples through transformative studies and spiritual formation;
ENGAGE in hands-on missions, changing lives while benefiting our community and the world.
CREATE – WORSHIP – NURTURE - ENGAGE
Our 2017 Theme is ENGAGE! We have begun a two-year Vision process and we are so excited to continue to serve under God's direction. To view our 2017 Vision Plan please click HERE.
Pritchard has a history of being a warm, loving family of faith, open to embracing new people. Although we are located in the historic South End of Charlotte, we have become a destination church for people from all over Mecklenburg County. For over 110 years the love of Jesus Christ has been proclaimed from this location. We are grateful for the privilege of continuing that mission today and invite you to join us in accomplishing this worthy task.
Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church was officially constituted in 1901, and was named for Dr. Thomas H. Pritchard, who led a Sunday School that began at the site of our current campus in 1893. We have been in the same location ever since, serving alongside the people of the Dilworth and South End communities. As with most churches that have operated for this long, we have seen vast changes in the communities around us, as well as in our own membership. We are glad to say that today we continue to thrive and are more equipped than ever to serve as the presence of Christ in the world. With a spirit of anticipation for partnering with God in Charlotte and throughout the world we continue to plan for future generations.

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis of any statement of faith.
Centrality and Authority of Scripture - We affirm the authority of scripture. We believe the Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, is central in the life of the individual and church.
Priesthood of All Believers - We affirm the freedom and right of every Christian to interpret and apply scripture under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We affirm the freedom and responsibility of every person to relate directly to God without the imposition of creed, the control of clergy, or the interference of government.
Autonomy of the Local Church - We affirm that Baptist churches are free, under the Lordship of Christ and guidance of the Holy Spirit, to determine their membership and leadership, to order their worship and work, to ordain whomever they perceive as gifted for ministry and to participate, as they deem appropriate, in the larger Body of Christ.
Freedom of Religion - We affirm religious freedom for all people and the separation of church and state.
