Children's Ministries

Let the little children come to me, for it is such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.
~ Luke 18:16

Children are important in the life of our church here at Pritchard Memorial Baptist. As a congregation we are dedicated to loving and supporting children and families as they grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Children's ministry team is composed of loving and caring adults who are committed to helping your child experience God's love by providing sound Bible teaching, missions education and musical experiences through developmentally appropriate curriculum for children birth through fifth grade. We recognize that children are a gift from God.

The PURPOSE of our teaching ministry to preschoolers and children is to provide a secure, welcoming environment of Christian love, care, acceptance and learning and to lay foundations which will prepare children to trust Jesus as their Savior at the appropriate time as they are led by the Holy Spirit.

Room PSA2 Ones
Room PSA3 Twos
Room PSC1 Threes, Fours and Fives

Our preschool division uses LifeWay curriculum that teaches preschoolers about the Bible, God, Jesus, the church, self, others and God's natural world by offering age appropriate, learning through play activities.

Extended Teaching Care (ETC) 10:15 am - 11:30 am

Extended Teaching Care is the continuation of Sunday School where preschoolers are cared for and Bible truths and Bible thoughts are shared while parents attend worship. ETC is provided for preschoolers, birth through five year olds. PMBC volunteers serve in this ministry on a rotating basis. Our older preschoolers attend worship through receiving of the offering and then they return to their classroom for the remainder of ETC.

Worship Celebration 10:30 am

Older preschoolers attend worship with their ETC class. During this time they come forward for the “children's moment” and participate with their community of faith in corporate worship. Following the receiving of the offering they return to their classroom. In the fall we offer a worship education class for our older preschoolers in ETC.

Children First - Fifth

Sunday School-Bible Time       9:15 am - 10:15 am

Sunday school is the basic Bible teaching program of our children's ministry. We use LifeWay curriculum that offers Bible stories and scripture memory. The children learn how to use their Bibles and discover that the Bible is their guide for life. They learn Bible truths that can be applied to everyday life.

Worship Celebration 10:30 am

It is important that children know what we do in the worship service. Children need to experience worship with their family of origin and their family of faith. Children are provided with special bulletins to support their worship experience.

Acolytes: Older children are offered the opportunity to serve as Acolytes during the worship service. This gives them the opportunity to offer their gift of service through worship leadership.

Parenting Partners in the Pew: This program partners with parents to pair adults with children whose parents sing in the choir or whose parents are unable to attend. Adults volunteer to parent in the pew during worship.

Classes for Christian discipleship and church membership are offered at various times throughout the year.
